James Marais and Monique Cassells have been performing together since 2009, and are renowned for their oldies tribute shows. Their tribute shows are mini-theatrical experiences, featuring their dynamic vocal and visual performances, playing guitar, using backtracks, and with costume changes throughout. Their most popular shows are Oldies But Goldies, From Memphis To Las Vegas: Elvis Presley Tribute, A trip down memory Lane and Old School Country Legends. (see links below to all their showreels)

James Marais is known as South Africa’s no. 1 Elvis Presley Tribute Art after winning at the Elvis Festival Africa in Storms River Village, Tsitsikamma in 2010. James participated in the Elvis World Cup, held in Cardiff, Wales in 2010, where he finished fourth out of 11 countries. He is a versatile artist performing songs by legends such as Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, Buddy Holly, Tom Jones, Shakin Stevens, Johnny Cash, Don Williams, and many others.

Monique Cassells has a reputation as a powerhouse! She is a versatile and engaging performer, able to perform music by many legendary artists such as Cher, Marilyn Monroe, and Dolly Parton, as well as Queen, the Platters, the Beatles, the Carpenters, Patsy Cline, and more. She also holds the distinction of being the only female Elvis Tribute Artist in South Africa and also participated in the Elvis Festival Africa ETA competition in 2010 which James Marais won.

James and Monique have performed at many different venues and functions over the years, most notably at the Roxy Revue Bar, Grand West Casino, Die Boer Dinner Theatre, Reed Valley in Mossel Bay, The Barnyard in Plettenberg Bay, The Showroom Theatre in Prince Albert, Jamrock Theatre in Brackenfell, Caledon Casino, Garden Route Casino, Golden Valley Casino in Worcester, Mykonos Casino, Evita Se Perron in Darling, The Drama Factory, Villa Pascal Theatre in Durbanville, Bushman’s Cave Theatre in Clanwilliam, Heroes Restaurant Theatre in Brackenfell, Bellville Civic Theatre, and Kraaifontein Civic Hall

They have performed at the Wildfees Festival in Vaalwater, the Landbou Expo in Upington, the Hermanus Whale Festival in Hermanus, the Robertson Lente Skou in Robertson, the Olive Festival at Meerhof Wines in Riebeeck Kasteel, Die Hart Van Helderberg Festival in Strand, Tribute Fest at Hillcrest Quarry in the Durbanville and the Innibos Festival in Nelspruit.

James and Monique have both performed on television, most notably on SABC 2’s game shows “Noot Vir Noot” (James, in 2012, with two repeated broadcasts later) and “Musiek Roulette” (James, in 2016 and Monique, in 2018). They have also appeared in documentaries made about the two “Elvis Festival Africa” events they performed at, held in Storms River Village, Tsitsikamma, Eastern Cape, in 2010 and 2011, made by Dugald MacDonald and professional filmmaker Ari Kruger respectively.

James and Monique have also written and produced original music, some of which have been playlisted on  Radio Sonder Grense (RSG 100-104FM), Zone Radio (The Voice of the Valley 88.5FM, broadcasting online, and Hosa Radio.
