Sophie Joans is a young stand-up comic and parody songwriter. Armed with her ukulele, she leaves the crowd in stitches with her bubbly, witty tunes. She started stand-up in 2018 and has since completed the amazing feat of doing 100 shows in 5 months. Since, she has graced the stages of The Mother City Comedy Festival, Park Acoustics, Cape Town and Melville Comedy Club, Joburg Theatre, and many more.

Sophie’s been the host of Play Things, Raunchy Renditions, and ‘Flight of the Wrong Chords’ on Cape Town Comedy TV with co-host Phil de Lange. When Covid hit, she pioneered the Instagram Show, ‘Live At The Coronno’ during lockdown, which hosted some of SA’s favourite comics and international comedians.

The STAND Foundation recently recognized her as one of 7 new comics selected to perform in their mentorship programme for women in stand-up.
